i've been out a while and have only put in a rare appearance at a memorial or brief visit at a convention/assembly to keep people off my back, so i haven't kept up on the songbook.
but one thing i've noticed that the org.
has been doing that they never did when i was in is all these "supplemental songs" that keep appearing.
The thing that REALLY annoys me about the new songs is that they expect us to either print them out ourselves (I am not a publishing company - you are) or try to read a tablet display shared among three or four. All they have to do is to print the lyrics in a study watchtower then it could be cut out and saved.
Oh yes, and the content annoys me too.

Seriously though, although the debate would be good I feel that one of our strengths is that, unlike the wtbts, we don't have to agree on anything. But please feel free to disagree with me.

the org is now demanding money from the witnesses, via the latest letter sent to elders regarding the circuit's excess funds.
succeeded in getting elders everywhere to hand over their own congregation's "excess funds" - now their circuit's bank balances are going to be plundered.. the spineless and subservient elders will cooperate without a whimper, because they're afraid of losing their little bit of power which the org has bestowed upon them.

The strange things about this letter are that it is not addressed to elders but to assembly overseers and that (if my recent ca was anything to go by) it is to be read out to the audience during the financial statement at the assembly. Anyone else been recently and managed to stay awake through the financial statement?

.. re: review of circuit account balances.
At our recent ca this letter (or possibly one very similar) was read out when the financial statement was presented to the whole assembly. Earlier, in the elders meeting, there was a lot of thinly disguised hostility towards it - elders have learned from what has happened in their own congregations after sending all of their money in. As a result, although a large donation was sent, sufficient was retained to fully fund 2 or 3 more assemblies - they said they were going to be very cautious about how much was sent.

Haven't seen this commented on yet - prepare for magazine servants to resign/revolt when they discover they will have to separate nested copies of all magazines (second paragraph). Why cant they just supply them separated?

a leading churchman has been ordered to go on a sex offenders programme after he was caught with child abuse images of the most serious level on his home computer.. highly respected jehovah witness ian ross, 65, had perverted images of girls as young as three engaged in sexual acts with adults.. he pleaded guilty to making indecent images of children between may 2013 and may last year..
Billingham is the neighbouring congregation to Hartlepool who had their own story reported here a few weeks ago. Interestingly, the circuit overseer who was in charge at the time both events occurred was removed as a c/o without explanation last year. I don't know if there is a connection, but I'd love to think that he may have got the police involved.

They seem to be trying to sneak through the changes to reporting for some reason. BTW, this means that the new Organized book is already out of date. Ch 8 paragraph 24 talks about reporting books, brochures and magazines in their own columns.
